As we see the world turning inside out we find three aspects of it hidden in plain sight, three elements that testify with absolute plainness the truth of the Bible coming alive in these days.
Aliyah:
First we see the people of Israel slowly being pressed around the world to return to their native land. After almost 2,000 years, the great diaspora is coming to a close and the Jews, many reluctantly, finding nowhere to lay their head, are being pressed out of the lands in which they had been given refuge and now returning to the land of their fathers as the Bible prophesied thousands of years earlier, God himself bringing them back.
Isaiah 43:5–7
5 Fear not: for I am with thee: I will bring thy seed from the east, and gather thee from the west; 6 I will say to the north, Give up; and to the south, Keep not back: bring my sons from far, and my daughters from the ends of the earth; 7 Evenevery one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him.
Apostasy
In contrast to the Jew returning, we see the church departing, a falling away from the Lord and particularly a losing of any regard for his word.
While this has long been evident in what is framed as the more popular denominations for many years, we also see it increasingly among the most conservative of Churches, they are not spared as they become more increasingly conformed to this world rather than transformed by the renewing of their minds (Romans 12:1).
They have turned away from the Bible as far as its practical application in all forms of life, they do not hold to it when it matters even if they diligently teach it. This is so among the pastors often more than it is among their congregations. Apostasy begins with the watering down of the word and a belief that in doing so popularity is granted thereby God is pleased. This is not so. (see Rev 3:14-22).
2 Timothy 3:1–9
1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. 2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, 4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; 5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. 6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, 7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. 8 Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith. 9 But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as theirs also was.
In writing his pastoral letter to Timothy, Paul writes of the state of the character of most of those in the Church in the last days, something becoming increasingly evident in all denominations as the Church so closely resembles the culture.
Zeitgeist:
Lastly we see the Spirit of the Age. Zeitgeist is the German word popularised long ago to describe the madness that is seen in crowds, a type of mob mentality is formed with a spiritual zeal that has no basis in logic or reality.
As the internet finds knowledge increase in velocity at the speed of light, so too we find the strings of the hearts of many. Driven by emotion, unrestrained by the mind, unhinged from reality and unwilling to ask the question, “Is this true?”.
Artificial reality is becoming their reality as the devil deceives the world increasingly decayed through desired delusion. They do not want to believe the truth, they desire to be lied to and take refuge in deceit.
Isaiah 28:15
15 Because ye have said, We have made a covenant with death, and with hell are we at agreement; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us: for we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have we hid ourselves:
Isaiah 30:9–10
9 That this is a rebellious people, lying children, children that will not hear the law of the LORD: 10 Which say to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, Prophesy not unto us right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits:
The increasing testament of a world which has lost its way and no longer can trust in the light that was once to be perched on a hill. The light of Christians is now hidden under a bushel, no longer able to show the way as the Titanic of the worlds people find themselves cast upon the rocks.
In Summary
The sermon attached is not my best work, this week experienced a day in court bought about by a man who feigns himself a Christian and encouraged by a reprobate minister, an evident sign of the last days Church. While I had easily won the case the scar of disillusionment cut a little deep and I found it difficult to set to writing the format desired. I ask your forgiveness for the tardiness of the extemporaneous preaching resorted to.
Nevertheless, if the Bible is true we ought to see those three elements play out in the midst of the noise seen about us.
- Aliyah: The forced if not voluntary return of the Jews across the world into their homeland, the only place they will feel safe for a time.
- Apostasy: The Christian Church falling away. Poor, yet thinking it self rich; Destitute yet trusting they are in need of nothing. In actions they deny God while in mouth they testify to knowing him. Doing their own thing yet calling themselves “Christian” to take away their reproach (Isaiah 4:1).
- ZietGeist: A world sailing turbulent seas without a compass. A rudderless yacht blown about by circling winds unable to know find landfall yet trusting the majority knows where they are going. An upside down world where good is now evil and evil is now good, communism is freedom and democracy is enslavement, butchering bodies is healthcare but raw organic milk is poison. Darkness becomes light in a world led by the prince of darkness who appears as light.
I pray the sermon is of some benefit.
Pr Edi.
