The Beatitudes
Pt 9. A Great Reward
The beatitudes culminate with the doubling down of persecution. Jesus aligns such as occurring agains the prophets of old and ought not to be unexpected, and such shall be recommenced by “great reward”.
The Peacemaker
The Peacemaker; his state is blessed, his character defined in desire to make peace at all cost, he reflects God’s own desire, he is identified as God’s child.
Mercy Measured In Majesty
“Blessed are the merciful”, the knowledge of mercy has a foundation and a standard, mercy is measured in majesty, God is the standard, the example we learn from and emulate.
The Hungered

They That Mourn
Blessed are they that mourn, while it seems to contradict the experience, those who are the Lords know of a certainty that “they shall be (eternally) comforted”.
Poor In Spirit
The poor in spirit are not they who exalt themselves, trust in themselves, depend upon themselves, these are not the “If it is to be its up to me” people, the poor in spirit are they who know they have nothing to offer God, they trust only in his promise to save them, for they have believed only on the finished work of Jesus Christ, that he died, was buried and rose again…FOR THEM!
