“With my lips have I declared All the judgments of thy mouth.”
It has often been the thought that only a life lived well may speak to the lost of the wonderful works of Christ and about the true joy and hope that we have. That our lives are so just and so pure as to affect in the hearts of others a longing for that which lights our path; but this is far from what the word of God tells us.
Jesus, God incarnate, the Word made flesh, the Just who died of the unjust, himself spoke. If any were to make the claim so often made today by deluded but well-meaning brethren, it should be he. But Jesus used his lips to declare, to speak allowed, all the judgements of God. Our text in Isaiah tells us that “He shall bring forth judgment unto truth” (Isaiah 42:3)
O that it would be so with us who are called by his name, not only to know the judgements but to declare them, to speak them clearly that those in darkness might have opportunity to react to that Light.
