SETTING TRAPS
“Whoso diggeth a pit shall fall therein:
And he that rolleth a stone, it will return upon him.”
Another OPPOSITE in the Bible is the wicked who go about setting traps or digging pits to trap the righteous, but they themselves get caught up or fall into them.
“He made a pit, and digged it, and is fallen into the ditch which he made.16 His mischief shall return upon his own head, and his violent dealing shall come down upon his own pate.” (Ps 7:15-16)
Haman built a huge tower in order to hang Mordecai the Jew. He schemed a scheme to destroy him and his people, when the King discovered his evil plot, and found the tower Haman built to hang Mordecai, the King commanded Human be hung on the tower built for Mordecai. (See The book of Esther)
“He taketh the wise in their own craftiness: and the counsel of the froward is carried headlong.” (Job 5:13)
People may seek to do you harm, they may lay traps for you, make you the scape goat for them; do not concern yourself with it, trust in the Lord who is able to save a soul from death, he will deliver you also and the crafty will suffer their own evil.
Thieves fear most of being stolen from, Liars fear most of being lied to, murderers fear most for their lies and those whose desire is for riches will find themselves poor.
“ For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?” (Mark 8:36)
“There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death” (Prov 16:25)
People think they have made their plans well, prepared their minds to comfort themselves that there is no God. Traps of arguments in their minds for the Christian, but the arguments they lay become a snare for themselves!
“And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:” (Heb 9:27)
The next verse tells of the greatest opposite of all;
“So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.” (Heb :9:27)
Those willing to die to their sins will have life in Christ, who died for their sins.
Seek him while he may be found.
