Introduction
The incredible success of the previous FOUR “FREE” YOUTH CAMPS undertaken directly by Hope Baptist Church has truly inspired us to continue to undertake ‘free-of-charge’ summer youth camps, open to the public EVERY YEAR. These camps are now firmly placed in the CALENDAR in either the third or fourth week of January every year.
The “Be Still” Summer Youth Camp of 2025 will be our FIFTH FREE YOUTH CAMP, and we are very excited about it.
The Theme of the camp is based on Psalm 46:10, which simply says;
“Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth”.
Uncertainties seem to be the way of world today, young people thinking of their future and what it is they need to study for future employments. Relationships, family, school, socials and much more add to diverse levels of challenges for children and parents alike. But imagine what it is to “Be Still”! To have absolute confidence that no matter what life might throw at you, things will work together for good.
Imagine a trust in God so firm and so strong that you are able to “be Still” during some of the most challenging times or decisions in life.
The “Be Still” summer camp aims in every way to both encourage and bless those who both know the Lord and those who are making enquiry into who God is and how it is he can be such comfort and joy to us all.
Location
In 2025, the Be Still Summer Camp will be located in the original home of many Baptist Church camps, at Crystal Creek, Alexandra. The campground is called Alexander Adventure Resort and it is indeed a “resort”. It has everything we could wish for for the sake of all our activities including the long list found below, and all centrally located near the high country of Victoria.
The “Be Still” camp has, as its focus that which all our previous camps focussed upon, and that is for the hope of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, that you may KNOW not only that you can have an eternal hope and joy, but also that you might be able to truly REST in the confidence that God is right there when you need him, that you might “be still and know that I am God” says he.
The Speaking Format
Those who have enjoyed the camp structures at previous Baptist Church camps will be familiar with the format of this camp.
Our special guest speaker is Pastor Sandro Scietroma, an ex rock musician that became a Christian in his early 20’s and has been a pastor for near 30 years now. He will bring a wealth of both knowledge and experience through turbulent times and how God had so wonderfully blessed him and his family.
Pastor Edi together with a handful of additional speakers will bring relevant and personal messages on the same theme, to both teach and encourage the young ones in their journey for the coming year of 2025.
Added to this series of talks there will be many testimonies demonstrating how God had worked in many lives to bring both eternal hope, meaning, and joy and especially REST in the knowledge of Jesus Christ.
The General Format
There will be a Chapel service both morning and evening of each of the days of camp. In between there will be a multitude of games and activities, together with free time and great food…great food…did I mention the food?
With help from those below, you KNOW the food must be good!
Games and Activities
We will have games in the day and also at night, some of the most exciting games we have ever played at camp…and a reformat of a relatively new night game called “Bible Smuggler” AND the new favourite of many, ….can’t remember what its called, but it’s GOOD! (pic somewhere below).

Cost
Our greatest burden is to make the camp free of charge to the youth. Times seem to be getting more difficult for many families and our greatest desire is to make the gospel as available as possible to all who will attend.
So, in short, THE CAMP IS FREE TO CAMPERS AND VOLUNTEERS
The Youth Camp is for Ages: 11 – 17yrs.
PLACES ARE LIMITED TO NO MORE THAN 120 TEENS, we need to also allow for enough volunteers to help.
Donations
Though Hope Baptist Church has and will continue to underwrite the cost of all camps, we are however by no means a financially rich Church, the hearts of the people are far larger than our bank account, nevertheless, we have determined to underwrite the cost no matter how far it goes.
But many people have asked if they can donate to have a share in the blessing this camp is promised to become, the short answer is Yes, absolutely.

The average “cost” of the camp is $250 per child. If your desire is to even sponsor one, five or ten children, please see the details below. Feel free to give as little or as much as you are comfortable. No pressure!
