Global Missions

The Great Commission.

Missions

Missions are those efforst that have been undertaken througout Christian history where men and women who have been called by God to preach the Gospel have done so through all the world, even leaving the homes in which they and their families have been born. They do so for their love of people and their devotion to he who had given them life everlasting.

There are times when we are burdened by the lost here at home and in our back yard, we look at our lives where we live here and now as our local mission. We think of family who have heard but rejected the Gospel and fear they will stand to give an account of themselves before God without The intercessor. Such a burden this is to us all, we know that should they leave this life rejecting the atoning blood of Jesus Christ that they stand condemned before him then even as they do now;

For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.  And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

JOHN 3:17-19

Though it remains true that a prophet is without honour in his own home, it is also true that globally the harvest is ripe, our mission is not only here but to all where the Lord will place that burden upon us.

A Ripe Harvest

Missions

Jesus made it clear, even in his own day, that the harvest for the salvation of the souls of man is ripe. John 4:35

There are men and women who have been called by the Lord to minister to his people in nations other than their own; our desire at Hope Baptist Church is to help either fill those roles or support those from other like churches to fulfil the call the Lord has placed on their lives to tend to the mission fields the Lord has revealed to them.

Though missions are that work for which we are to endevour toward, at this early stage, Hope Baptist Church does not have a full program for missions work. Our fundamental purpose however is to undertake a promotion of missions in time to come, even as we train for both local and international missions here.

Meanwhile there is no doubt the many teaching and studying opportunities at Hope Baptist Church will provide prospective Missionaries, Pastors and Evangelists opportunity, to prepare their hearts and their minds to the work God has called them to undertake. This is the pupose of the Church, not only to preach the Gospel, but to make diciples of men.
