Discipleship
The preparation of disciples
In all our work as a Church body, we believe nothing is more important that abiding in and following on from the work of our Lord Jesus Christ. His command was as simple as it was profound concerning his ongoing desire to ‘seek and to save that which is lost‘ (Lk 19:10), discipleship preparation is that effort for which the Church exists as a corporate body.
And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
MARK 16:15
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
IS THERE A GREATER PURPOSE?
If it were at all possible to consider a greater, more noble, more rewarding purpose than changing the eternity of just one person, I am sure we would set ourselves to attend to it.
If we could conceive, even for a moment of the true state of one person, even one, who dies in his/her sin, without ever knowing of the redeemers love by the lips of those who have been saved by his matchless grace, I am sure each of us would stop all that we are doing, all our temporal worries and all our temporal concerns, just to tell a single soul of the Love of Jesus.
I cannot imagine a more important work to dedicate my life toward. Discipleship preparation is that effort that duplicates and multiplies both the alarm to awaken the lost and the voices to share the good news of what Jesus has done for all who believe.
This then is the burden and the motive of bringing up men and women for the future work that the Lord has already prepared for them.
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
