2nd Anniversary Celebration

Already two years have gone by since Hope Baptist Church began in Sunbury, Victoria and what a blessing the two years have been. As Pastor of the Church I have had no end of joy in bringing the word of God to the congregation and certainly am privileged to have a part to play in their growing love and devotion to the Lord, together with a growing appetite for the Bible itself.

Second only to the preaching of the Gospel is the teaching of the Bible in this ministry, it is through the hope gained in this, the most incredible and profound book, that salvation, joy and purpose is found. It provides us with true understanding of all that is about us, and it gives the hope we all intuitively desire for the future.

With over 100 sermons preached from general messages to those of a series such as R.A.I.N, The Beginning, The Coming Messiah and the foundational Bible Survey Series, there is a firm base being sounded for the foundation of the Church. The hundred + Newsletters providing diverse forms of encouragement that might be gained throughout the week have also been a blessing to both compile and write articles on. 176 Words being a devotional commentary on the 176 verses of Psalm 119, Proximity Warning being a series of articles through which it is hoped may become a book linking current events with those elements the Bible speaks so clearly of concerning future circumstance, a weekly en try of John Bunyan’s classic allegory Pilgrims Progress and a miscellaneous range of additional devotions together with the days outline and announcements, have given some depth to the 12 page newsletter.

All I can say is that I am looking forward to the years to come, certain they will be challenging in many ways, yet I am equally certain that the Word of God, as a light onto our path, will illuminate the way under our feet. Our trust in Christ, as he is presented in scripture, as the ‘anchor of the soul’ (Heb 6:19), will be the rock upon which we are built.
