176 Words on 176 Verses. Psalm 119:8

176 words on 176 Verses.

 I will keep thy statutes:

O forsake me not utterly.”

 (Ps 119:8)

There is certainly not a statute we can keep if we have not learned them (v7) and if we have learned them but not kept them then it is also certain we have not learned them, for not to do is not to know.

But o to keep the statutes of the Lord, what a joy it is. Everything changes, not only our manner of life but also the way in which we pray, it all changes when we keep that which he has given to our benefit; Why? Because it is when our lives hold fast to that which is true, then we see clearly the light of it and we come boldly to the throne of grace. But when we do not live to that which is true, both heart and eyes are darkened and all we see is this world and what it has to offer.

Any attempt to live however, forsaken of his spirit, then, though the statutes may be learned, they will not be kept, for without him we can do nothing (John 15:5).
